PRACTICE FIRE AND PERSONAL SAFETY WHILE CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN
Protect your family and property through the start of the holidays
ANAHEIM, Calif. (October 27, 2015) – Halloween is a great time for family fun; however fun can quickly become something truly scary without taking a few simple safety precautions. Many children dressed in costumes will take to the streets for trick-or-treating on Halloween night which means motorists and parents must be even more alert.
Anaheim Fire & Rescue encourages families to carry flashlights and to use pedestrian crossings with caution as well as sidewalks. “We want to remind drivers to be vigilant while on the road and watch for pedestrians especially on Halloween night,” said Anaheim Fire Chief Randy R. Bruegman. When placing decorations in or outside of your home we recommend using only battery-operated candles. Real candles should never be used as a illumination for any decoration, and remember to be sure to extinguish all house ornamental candles before leaving your home to trick-or-treat. With everyone’s help, we can make this Halloween a fire-safe one.”
