Watch out for the traitorous Kring and Galloway!

O.C. bloggers are in a total uproar since Lorri Galloway announced that she can’t be trusted. Well actually she announced that she is running against her ally, Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. Her excuse is that he doesn’t use his position of Mayor to advocate for issues that she supports. And she is miffed that he doesn’t work well with the Anaheim City Council.

But as Tait pointed out, Galloway doesn’t work well with them either. Who would? You can’t work with the likes of Kris Murray, Jordan Brandman, Lucille Kring and Gail Eastman. You just have to defeat them at the ballot box. Continue reading→

From the Detroit Business News two days ago: Subcontractors begin vying for work on Detroit’s $140 million M1 Rail project. In part,

At an open house for subcontractors and others needed to help build a 3.3-mile streetcar down Woodward Avenue in Detroit, Lawrence Stevenson said he considered being involved in the project as something that would be “historic.” But he will only be a part of that history if his company, Detroit-based Stevenson Construction, can successfully land a contract for a portion of the work the M1 Rail line…needed for the $140 million task.

That’s $42.4 million/mile, 58% less the estimated cost for Kris Murray’s Anaheim trolley — and that’s all IF Anaheim succeeds in absconding with OCTA Measure M funds to build a $319 million streetcar between the Convention Center, Disneyland and the new $174 million ARTIC train station that’s never going to see a High-Speed Rail Bullet Train once a Sacramento Judge gets through with Gov. Brown and his rape of Proposition 1A. The streetcar’s cost topped a cost comparison involving 11 other streetcar systems across the country. Continue reading→

Anaheim’s changes not enough for Latino community

A year after police shootings prompted unrest in Anaheim, some residents express frustration over response to their concerns.

It began with violence: Anaheim police firing beanbags and a police dog breaking loose and lunging into a crowd of men, women and children, some of whom had confronted the officers over their fatal shooting of a Latino man.

When another fatal police shooting of a Latino followed, and the anger finally spilled over, people smashed windows, and police in riot gear rushed the street, even as the fireworks from Disneyland on the other side of town erupted in the night sky. Continue reading→

Save Anaheim‘s Jason had the bombshell scoop this morning, the morning of this evening’s final Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting, where the Council’s appointees will vote on whether to recommend switching to district elections or not:

What Jason has come across is a large number of Facebook postings from the page of Amanda Edinger, who was Councilmember Jordan Brandman‘s and Lucille Kring’s joint appointee to the commission – postings which show her to have an unhealthy obsession with – that is, against – our immigrant brothers and sisters. After getting thoroughly beat up (quite undeservedly in our opinion) by his City Council over the last few months, Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait is beginning his re-election campaign a bit early it seems with a significant Fundraiser this week. It was also a surprise to see Lucille Kring‘s name on the Host Committee given the hand grenade she left in his lunchbox last week when she stiffed his Assistant out of a ~~raise~~ paycheck.
