Anaheim Police Department to Join Community in National Night Out (#NNOAPD)
Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 5-8 p.m. at Eucalyptus Park
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 4, 2014) – Started in 1984 by the non-profit group National Association of Town Watch (NATW), National Night Out brings people together to focus on crime prevention, increase police-community partnership, promote neighborhood camaraderie, and send the message to criminals that the community is organized and will engage with their police department to prevent crime. The NATW website reports during the first National Night Out, Tuesday, August 7, 1984, 2.5 million American took part in 400 communities across 23 states.
The Anaheim Police Department always works to engage our community in crime prevention strategies and has a long history of hosting National Night Out. Tomorrow, August 5, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Anaheim Police Department will be hosting National Night Out – Anaheim (#NNOAPD). This year’s event will be held at Eucalyptus Park – 100 N. Quintana Drive. (On Santa Ana Canyon Road between Anaheim Hills Road and Fairmont Drive) National Night Out – Anaheim (#NNOAPD) offers an opportunity to see the many facets of the Anaheim Police Department and emphasizes the partnerships, both public and private, needed to provide service to the Anaheim community.
