Assemblyman Tom Daly (D-Anaheim) won’t run unchallenged after all in the June Primary Election. He is going to face a challenger, Ofelia Velarde-Garcia.
I believe that Velarde-Garcia is a Republican. She works for the County of Orange as an Executive Secretary. She is also a notary public. Her ballot title will be “Orange County Executive Aide,” which is not bad. My guess is that Daly will try to challenge that title.
Daly represents the most Latino Assembly district in Orange County – the 69th Assembly District. It is a solidly Democratic seat, with 53% of the voters registered as Democrats. However 52.6% of the voters in the 69th District are Latinos. Continue reading
