Anaheim Public Utilities Offers New Incentives and Rebates for Home Cooling Systems

ANAHEIM, Calif. (October 7, 2015) The summer season may be behind us, but warm weather is still in the forecast. To assist customers through the warm weeks ahead, Anaheim Public Utilities has announced a new financial incentive and double rebates for selected home cooling upgrades. In addition, representatives will be available at locations in Anaheim through this weekend to meet customers and answer any questions.

City of Anaheim and Borrego Solar Complete 2.4 MW Roof-Mounted Solar PV System at the Convention Center

Anaheim, Calif. – August 28, 2014—The City of Anaheim announced the completion of a 2.4-megawatt (MW) solar panel system on the Anaheim Convention Center. The $5.7 million project managed by Anaheim Public Utilities was completed by Borrego Solar Systems Inc., a leading designer, developer, installer and financier of grid tied solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The installation covers 300,000 square feet on the rooftop of Exhibit Halls A, B and C. With 7,908 installed solar panels, the installation will be the largest city-owned, convention center, roof-mounted system in North America. Continue reading→

BRIGHT IDEAS BEGIN AT YOUR ANAHEIM LIBRARY

ANAHEIM, Calif. (August 21, 2014) Bright ideas and energy savings are available at your local Anaheim Library.

Anaheim Public Utilities customers can receive two free energy-saving LED light bulbs by showing picture identification and proof of address (such as a utility bill) at any of the library locations listed below, while supplies last. Limit two per household. LED light bulbs can save 85% more energy and last approximately 40 times longer than incandescent lights. Please call your local library to confirm hours of operation.

ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES OFFERS FREE ENERGY-SAVING HOLIDAY LIGHT EXCHANGE

ANAHEIM, CA – (November 27, 2013) Anaheim Public Utilities is offering a holiday light exchange program from Monday, December 2 through Friday, December 13. During that time, customers can trade in one of their old incandescent holiday lights for a new 37-foot string of energy-saving LED lights.

Anaheim Chamber Questions Whether Water Officials Violated State Law

Inquiries Sent to OCWD Regarding Committee Members’ Actions on Power Plant and Possible “Brown Act” Violations

Anaheim, Calif. (Nov. 25, 2013) – The Anaheim Chamber of Commerce has requested the Orange County Water District (OCWD) determine whether recent comments and actions taken by three members of the Board of Directors of the water district may have violated the State’s “Open Meetings” law – The Ralph M. Brown Act. The concerns are related to current negotiations between OCWD and Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) regarding the District’s plan to lease surplus property – the Ball Road Basin – to CPV for development of a 300-600 megawatt power plant in the city of Anaheim, on the banks of the Santa Ana River and across from the city of Orange.
