While most Vietnamese families are busy at home lighting fireworks, preparing meals and honoring ancestors, a handful of Vietnamese American, Anaheim youth spent their holiday dropping off New Year style food to local shelters and charities.
After raising the necessary money all on their own, this local youth of California Zion Church purchased nearly 2,000 bags of egg rolls to hand deliver to families in need.
“New Year celebration is about moving into the New Year with hope, what better way to share that feeling than to give love and support to those who need help?” said 21 year old Minh Vo, a student at Cal State Fullerton and youth leader volunteer at California Zion Church.
Among the locations that Vo and six other youths from her church brought their donations included Hand to Hand Charity, and Loc Tran Radio, both of which will be working to make sure the food will reach homes in need this weekend.
“It’s not much but we hope that good deeds like this will inspire many more people to create positive changes in our communities,” said Vo.
