While most of us were getting ready for Halloween, a man in Anaheim was busy stabbing his wife during a domestic dispute, according to the O.C. Register.
The attack happened on Sunday night at the 400 block of North Via Lucera, in Anaheim, just before 5:30 p.m. The Anaheim Police responded to a call from a family member indicating that a woman had been stabbed. Continue reading

Subject: Suspect Arrested for Possession of Explosive Materials
ANAHEIM, CA – A 57 year old man is in custody after Anaheim Police officers found several pounds of dangerous materials in his room. Anaheim Police were first called to an assisted living facility in the 200 block of N. Dale Ave. around 10:00 am this morning regarding a resident who was possibly making illegal fireworks in his room. The man was cooperative and showed officers the materials in question. Further investigation revealed the materials were potentially explosive, prompting a response from the Orange County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad and Hazardous Materials specialists from Anaheim Fire & Rescue. SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Board of Parole Hearings, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, denied the parole yesterday of a man with a history of violent crimes who brutally murdered his lifelong friend for money and threw him out of a plane after deliberately smashing the victim’s face so sharks would eat the body. Lawrence Rayborn Cowell, 68, is currently being held at California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo, California. Cowell was sentenced Jan. 26, 1990, to two concurrent terms of 25 years to life in state prison. Cowell will be eligible for his next parole hearing in 2019.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) opposed the parole and Senior Deputy District Attorneys Matt Murphy and Mike Murray appeared with Collene and Gary Campbell, parents of 27-year-old murder victim Scott Campbell, to defend public safety and advocate for justice. Continue reading

Anaheim Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Fallen Sailor
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2016) — City of Anaheim flags are at half-staff through sundown Monday to honor Chief Petty Officer Jason C. Finan, a Navy sailor who lost his life in Iraq as part of Operation Inherent Resolve to free parts of the country from ISIS control.
Finan, who lived in Anaheim when he enlisted in 2003, was killed Thursday when an armored vehicle he was traveling in struck an improvised explosive device. Continue reading
