Thomas Austin Farmer, 44, was sentenced on Friday to 250 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting a little girl and boy, ages 4 and 5 , at a motel in Anaheim, according to the O.C. Register.
Farmer was convicted on Jan. 19 on multiple felony charges of sexually assaulting these children from June, 2013 to April, 2014, according to the O.C.D.A.
The victimized children were living with their infant sister and parents at an Anaheim motel room when Farmer targeted them for sexual abuse.
Farmer was apparently a best friend of the parents. He would offer to take their children for sleepovers under the guise of giving the parents a “break.”
Farmer lived in a sober-living home, which he helped to manage. He would bring his victims there so he could sexually assault them. He also would take them to buy toys.
Farmer confessed to his actions while being interrogated by the Anaheim Police, after initially declaring that he was innocent. He eventually confessed to being a “monster” and asked to be locked up. However during his trial Farmer testified that he was coerced into a videotaped confession.
Farmer received the maximum punishment that was legally available to the prosecutors and the Judge.
