10th Annual Anaheim Free Health Fair Set for April 2-3
ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 9, 2016) Anaheim’s annual health fair will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year by offering free health screenings and services for family members of all ages. The free event will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center on Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Each year more than 150 doctors, health care professionals and community members volunteer their time to provide vital health screenings and services. Since 2007, more than 8,000 attendees have benefitted from the free event, helping to build healthier communities.
A partial list of services to be offered is listed below:
Bone density and strength measurement
Chiropractic and acupuncture services
Cholesterol checks (lipid profile requires eight hours fasting prior)
Dental cleanings, extractions and fillings
Diabetes (glucose) and anemia (hemoglobin) tests
Hearing tests
Heart checks (EKG)
Medical and surgical specialist consultations
Physical exams (vital signs and screenings)
Vision services (eye exams and eyeglasses vouchers)
Voluntary bone marrow donor program sign-ups
Women’s services (mammograms: patient qualifications required)
The Anaheim Health Fair, open to anyone in need of health services as well as for those looking for updates to ensure optimal wellness, is presented by founding partners the city of Anaheim, the Anekant Community Center and GBS Linens, Inc., along with recently added partner Lestonnac Free Clinic. The event is co-chaired by Council Member Jordan Brandman and Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Lucille Kring.
“The Anaheim Health Fair is a great example of volunteerism and helping our fellow neighbors,” said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. “When people come together good things will happen. Hundreds of volunteers serve hundreds of attendees in need of quality medical attention. My thanks go to the doctors, health care professionals and volunteers for making this event possible.”
“We at the city have worked hard with our partners to make sure that some of the finest medical professionals are available for this event,” said Council Member Jordan Brandman. “These are the types of community services that are so critical to our neighborhoods, and I hope you’ll take advantage of this great opportunity and attend.”

Event co-organizer Dr. Nitin Shah added, “Why offer free health screenings? Because health is the best wealth one can ever have.”
