Westwood College to Close, date not yet determined
It was announced on Tuesday that Westwood College has stopped enrolling students to its Anaheim campus. While no closure date has been determined, the college will eventually shutter its doors.
Westwood College is a degree-granting institution based out of Colorado. In 2012 the college settled with the state attorney general for $4.5 million over enrollment and student loan practices. A similar suit was recently settled in Illinois for $15 million.
On average, students pay $40,000 for an AA degree and nearly double that for a BA degree.
Students looking to transfer their credits to another school are barred from acceptance by other public colleges (however most private colleges will determine eligibility for transfers on a case-by-case basis).
