An unidentified man in his 80s died after being hit by a car while crossing the street Friday afternoon in Anaheim, according to the O.C. Register.
The police were contacted shortly before 1 p.m. with news that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle near Magnolia Ave. and Ball Road, near Magnolia High School.
The victim was crossing the street westbound, just outside a crosswalk, when he was hit by a car heading northbound. The man died shortly thereafter.
The police reported that the driver who hit the victim stayed at the accident scene and was cooperative. The police did not suspect that the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No citations were issued and the driver was not arrested but the police investigation is ongoing.
