It was not a good night for Anaheim Councilman Jordan Brandman, who is also running to replace Loretta Sanchez in the 46th Congressional District. You see Brandman has run afoul of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party.
Why? Because Brandman did something completely unforgivable when he voted to delay Anaheim’s Third District residents from holding an election until 2018 – an action that disenfranchised Anaheim’s Latino voters.
Jeff LeTourneau led the charge against Brandman at tonight’s Democratic Party of Orange County Central Committee meeting. And his effort succeeded as his party passed a resolution to condemn Brandman by acclamation. The District Elections will go to a second reading on December 8 at the next Anaheim City Council meeting.
LeTourneau ripped Brandman to shreds, and rightfully so, in an editorial published by the Voice of OC. There is so much to dislike about Brandman – he votes as he is told to by former Anaheim Mayor (and now lobbyist) Curt Pringle – and Brandman is a reliable stooge for the Disney Company.
We are glad to see that Orange County’s progressive Democrats are finally revolting against the “business Democrats” who more often than not vote lockstep with the disgusting Republicans who are part of Pringle’s cabal. This should have happened a long time ago.
