Statement by Assemblywoman Kim on Anaheim Homeless Shelter
SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Young Kim, R-Fullerton, today issued the following statement in response to the decision by the Orange County Board of Supervisors to purchase a building in Anaheim as the site of a new year-round emergency homeless shelter:
“I am very pleased to see Orange County, Fullerton, Anaheim, and Brea come together to help the neediest members of our community. This shelter has been a long time coming, and I applaud all those involved for working together on this important project.
“A new, 200-bed facility is going to have a tremendous impact on the County’s ability to provide essential services. This will be the first year-round shelter in our area, and will go a long way toward helping members of this underserved population stay safe and get back on their feet.”
Kim represents the 65th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Palma, Stanton, and West Anaheim.
