Subject: UPDATE to W. Embassy Avenue Homicide
Last night at approximately 11 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of W. Embassy Avenue regarding an unknown trouble call for service.
Upon their arrival, they located an adult male, identified as Felipe Viera Lugo (3/22/1970), lying in the middle of the street, unresponsive and
suffering from severe injury. Paramedics from Anaheim Fire & Rescue arrived and pronounced Lugo deceased a short time later. Traffic investigators and detectives were summoned to the scene and began their investigation.
While preliminary information indicated a hit and run was the cause of the subject’s death, investigative leads in the case now point to Lugo being the victim of a homicide. Accordingly, detectives from the Major Assault/Homicide Unit are leading the investigation.
During the process of the investigation, detectives located a white Ford F-150 pickup in the 200 block of S. Agate Street. While the role this vehicle may have played in Lugo’s death is unknown at this time, the truck is considered of interest to detectives and has been impounded as evidence.
Anyone with information regarding this case, including knowledge of Lugo’s whereabouts or associates, is asked to contact Orange County Crime
Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS, www.occrimestoppers.org, or via text at CRIMES (274637). You may remain anonymous, and information you provide
could help bring the killer(s) to justice.
