Assemblywoman Young Kim Honors Las Palomas as the 65th Assembly District’s Small Business of the Year
SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Young Kim (R-Fullerton) honored Las Palomas Mexican and Mariscos Restaurant in the City of Anaheim as the 2015 Small Business of the Year for the 65th Assembly District during a special ceremony held at the State Capitol.
“Las Palomas is an ideal representation of a local and successful small business in California” said Assemblywoman Kim. “It is family owned and operated, built with hard work in pursuit of the American dream, and continuously gives back to the community. Owner Julissa Fontes has been in the restaurant industry in Orange County for over 25 years, bringing culture, economic success, and of course delicious food to our district.”
Las Palomas is a popular local establishment, serving Sonora Style cuisine and known for its famous fiesta burrito and mango margarita. Since opening, the restaurant has been involved with many non-profit and charity groups, and regularly donates food for organization, city, and school events. They also offer catering and on-site weddings, banquets, and other celebrations.
Las Palomas has been a member of the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for over five years and was recently named their 2015 Small Business of the Year.
Assemblywoman Kim represents the 65th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Palma, Stanton, and West Anaheim. She serves as Vice-Chair of the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy.
