Subject: Updates on On-going Homicide Investigations
On June 12, 2014 at 10:51 am, the body of Zoraida Reyes was discovered in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen in the 200 block of N. State College Blvd. Reyes, 29 of Santa Ana, was an active member of several Orange County transgender and immigrant rights advocacy groups and her death prompted concern. So far the investigation has not uncovered any evidence to indicate Reyes was specifically targeted, and Detectives are not investigating this homicide as a hate crime.
Yesterday, October 7, 2014 at 9:25 a.m., Randy Lee Parkerson was arrested in his vehicle in the 200 block of E. Katella Ave. Parkerson, 38 of Anaheim, was booked at the Anaheim Police Department Temporary Detention Facility for murder and he is being held on 1 million dollars bail. His booking photograph is above.
On October 7, 2014 at 8:25 pm, Anaheim Police were called to assist members of Anaheim Fire & Rescue with the discovery of a dead body. The body was found in a water overflow area in the 2100 block of W. Crescent Ave., between the southbound I-5 freeway and Crescent Ave. Our preliminary investigation has revealed the following:
Three men contacted Paramedics at Anaheim Fire Station #2 reporting there was a male in the water overflow area in need of medical attention. The Paramedics were directed to the victim, a male adult, who had significant injuries to his upper body and no signs of life. The Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene and called police.
As officers were conducting the preliminary investigation, it was learned the victim may have had an altercation with another male about an hour before his body was discovered. Kornell Randen King, who lives in an apartment complex in the 2100 block of W. Crescent Ave., was contacted. King, 27, was later booked at the Anaheim Police Department Temporary Detention Facility for murder. He is being held on 1 million dollars bail. Above is a booking photograph of King.
