A 43-year-old Huntington Beach man is in critical condition after he was attacked Friday night by three men in the Angel Stadium parking lot, Anaheim police said, according to the OC Register.
At about 10:30 p.m. Friday, witnesses flagged down Anaheim police officers who were patrolling the game and alerted them of the altercation, said Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn, according to CBS News.
The victim and a relative were walking through the parking lot when the men attacked them for no apparent reason, Dunn said. The male relative was not injured. The man, who was unconscious, was taken to a nearby hospital and was still listed in critical condition, Dunn said Sunday. His name was not available Sunday, according to KTLA News.
The incident is under investigation. Witnesses with any information can leave anonymous tips through Orange County Crime Stoppers at occrimestoppers.org or at 855-847-6227.
Because the City of Anaheim runs Angel Stadium this mess could end up being paid for by taxpayers.
Isn’t it time for Anaheim to sell the Angel Stadium and the surrounding property – for the best price they can get? Cities should not be involved in running stadiums. If Angels owner Arte Moreno wants this land he should buy it – at full price. He would be stupid to move his team anywhere else.
