ANAHEIM’S HOTEL INDUSTRY COMMITS $25,000 FOR POLICE K9 MONUMENTS
ANAHEIM, Calif. (July 17, 2014) – The City of Anaheim announced the Anaheim/Orange County Hotel Industry has committed an initial contribution of $25,000 for Police K9 monuments to be placed at Anaheim’s future La Palma and Olive Hills dog parks.
The Anaheim City Council recently approved a $25,000 loan to the Kash For K9s committee, through the Anaheim Community Foundation. However, the Hotel Industry offered to assume that responsibility, thereby eliminating any need for the City to contribute, leaving this as a purely community, grassroots effort.
“My thanks to the Anaheim/Orange County Hotel Industry for their thoughtfulness in helping the City create the K9 monuments. The pieces are works of art that will be enjoyed by our residents and visitors to Anaheim’s future dog parks,” said Mayor Pro Tem Kris Murray.
“The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau appreciates all who serve to keep Anaheim’s residents, businesses and visitors safe,” said Jay Burress, CEO of the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau. “It is our pleasure to assist the Kash For K9s volunteers and we look forward to this continued relationship which serves to honor our canine friends.”
La Palma Dog Park is scheduled to open fall 2014, and the Olive Hills Dog Park in spring 2015.
