Irvine Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Lalloway announced that Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait has been named one of the two 2013 OCGOP Local Elected Officials of the Year by the Republican Party of Orange County, at their Central Committee meeting tonight, according to the OC Political blog.
This is a gigantic slap to the face to former Anaheim Mayor and current lobbyist Curt Pringle and to his acolyte, Anaheim Councilwoman Lucille Kring, who is running against Tait this year.
Kring ran in 2012 as an outsider, fooling some. We however weren’t fooled by her act. And sure enough she turned on Tait, who backed her Council campaign, after she got elected. She now votes regularly with Pringle’s other stooges on the Anaheim City Council – Jordan Brandman, Krist Murray and Gail Eastman.
Kring’s campaign against Tait is a bitter pill for the OC GOP as they backed her for the City Council. Now she might undermine Tait and perhaps cause the Democrat in the race, former Anaheim Council Woman Lorri Galloway, to become Anaheim’s next Mayor. That will be a disaster as Galloway is a shill for the public employees’ union.
Pringle in the meantime forced the construction of the ARTIC station – a transportation station that Anaheim did not need. The high speed rail system that Pringle backs will not be built making ARTIC an expensive white elephant.
Pringle and his ilk are the very worst politicians in Orange County. It is great to see the OC GOP finally slap them down as they unite behind Tait and his re-election campaign.
It is too bad the OC GOP also named Supervisor Janet Nguyen as a Local Elected Official of the Year. What in the world did she do to deserve that? Unlike Tait she is an empty suit and a corrupt one at that. It is not too late for the OC GOP to find someone else to run for the 34th State Senate District!
