CITY OF ANAHEIM ANNOUNCES TWO EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP APPOINTMENTS
ANAHEIM, Calif. (November 19, 2013) The Anaheim City Council tonight approved two executive leadership appointments as recommended by City Manager Marcie Edwards. Dukku Lee was confirmed as Anaheim Public Utilities General Manager, and Kristine Ridge confirmed as Deputy City Manager. Lee and Ridge will begin their new assignments effective Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.
“I am pleased to announce the promotions of Dukku Lee and Kristine Ridge,” said Edwards. “Both have demonstrated their commitment to serving Anaheim’s residents, businesses and guests in the finest manner possible. They are dedicated individuals who have a vision for serving the entire City, and their qualifications are stellar. In their new roles, Dukku and Kristine will continue serving the community well.”
Lee has 20 years of experience in the utility industry, including 14 years in municipal electric utilities management. He joined Anaheim Public Utilities in 1999 and ultimately assumed responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and engineering functions of the City’s electric utility, including its high voltage electric infrastructure and two generation power plants. Prior to joining Anaheim, Lee worked for Southern California Edison and Paragon Consulting Services. He has a B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a M.S. degree in Engineering Management from California State University, Long Beach and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California. Lee also serves on the Boards of the California Municipal Utilities Association and the Southern California Public Power Association. As Utility General Manager, he will be responsible to plan, direct, and manage the day-to-day activities and operations of the Anaheim Public Utilities Department, which includes both water and electric utility services.
Ridge has spent more than 25 years in the public sector and joined the City of Anaheim in 1993. She served as the City’s Auditor for 10 years, and also was the interim City Treasurer prior to becoming the City’s Human Resources Director where she currently oversees a full service department including employee relations, benefits, recruitment, classification and compensation, organization development and training, HR technology and risk management. In addition, she served in a dual capacity assuming the responsibilities of the Finance Director in 2010. She earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from Arizona State University, a Certificate in Public Accounting, a Certification as a Governmental Financial Manager, completion of IPMA Core Competencies, Certificate in Leadership from University of Chicago, a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University, and a Certificate in Public Sector Human Resources from George Washington University. Ridge has been an active member in numerous professional organizations, and currently serves as Chairperson of the Board for CPS HR consulting. Recently she was awarded the Emery E. Olson Achievement award from the Southern California Public Management Association. As Deputy City Manager, Ridge will continue to oversee the full range of responsibilities related to the City’s centralized human resources department while assuming tasks and responsibilities for assisting the City Manager in executing the City Council’s policy decisions and, where needed, overseeing day to day operational activities and functions.
