ARTIC TERMINAL OPERATIONS/SPONSORSHIP INDUSTRY BRIEFING TO BE HELD ON MAY 23
Organizations interested in public-private partnerships are encouraged to attend
ANAHEIM, CA – (May 9, 2013) A world-class, iconic transportation gateway is currently being constructed in Anaheim. The City of Anaheim will be holding an Industry Briefing on May 23 for potential bidders interested in the performance of Operations, Maintenance and Outdoor Advertising / Sponsorship Sales Services in relation to the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC). The City intends to solicit these various support services through a long term performance-based contract taking the form of a Public-Private Partnership. A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will be released by the City following the Industry Briefing.
ARTIC, a partnership between the City of Anaheim and the Orange County Transportation Authority, will be built adjacent to Angel Stadium of Anaheim and Honda Center on Katella Avenue. Designed to provide service for the more than 40 million visitors to Anaheim and Orange County each year as well as Orange County’s three million residents, ARTIC will house many different transportation modes when it opens in late 2014, including Metrolink, Amtrak, OCTA bus service, taxi, bicycle, international buses and tour and charter buses. ARTIC is also planned for future modes of transportation services, such as high speed rail, as well as retail, restaurant and office space, truly making it a multi-purpose civic space.
The Industry Briefing will focus on key issues and opportunities associated with the project, as well as details of the solicitation and procurement process. It is also intended as a networking opportunity for interested facility operators, property managers, parking managers, outdoor advertising, sponsorship sales firms, investors and associated service providers. The City anticipates, and highly encourages partnering amongst firms from the various disciplines that are required to operate this iconic regional landmark.
· The Industry Briefing Meeting will be held adjacent to the ARTIC site, on Thursday, May 23 at JT Schmid’s Restaurant & Brewery (2610 E. Katella Ave., Anaheim, CA 92805) from 2-4 p.m. First hour will focus on the city’s vision and the industry’s views of ARTIC’s long term O&M. Following will be an informal networking opportunity on the Garden Patio. No attendance fees are required.
· A formal site visit is not proposed but may be scheduled in line with the procurement process.
