FREE ANAHEIM HEALTH FAIR SET FOR SUNDAY, JUNE 30
Seventh annual event to take place at new location – Magnolia High School
ANAHEIM, CA – (May 6, 2013) – Anaheim’s seventh annual free Health Fair will take place on Sunday, June 30, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at a new location – Magnolia High School, located at 2450 West Ball Road in Anaheim. Physicians and medical staff will offer free health screenings and exams to ensure optimal health at every age.
The Anaheim Health Fair is presented by founding partners the City of Anaheim, the Anekant Community Center and GBS Linens, Inc., and is co-chaired by Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Gail Eastman and Council Member Jordan Brandman.
Doctors, health care professionals and volunteers all donate their time at this free one-day event. A partial list of services to be offered include: Physical exams (vital signs and screenings); heart checks (EKG); cholesterol checks (lipid profile requires 8 hours fasting before the test); diabetes (glucose) and anemia (hemoglobin) tests; bone strength measurement (bone density); women’s services (mammograms: patient qualifications required); eye exams; dental consultations; chiropractic and acupuncture services; voluntary bone marrow donor program sign-ups.
“The Anaheim Health Fair is a great example of volunteerism and helping our fellow neighbors,” said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. “The Health Fair is more than simple blood tests and vital sign recordings. Anyone in need of exams, screenings and consultations is encouraged to attend. What would take multiple appointments over weeks of time can be accomplished in one day. The Health Fair truly helps those in need of quality medical attention. My thanks go to the doctors, health care professionals and volunteers for making this event possible.”
“I am pleased to co-chair the 2013 Health Fair, and continue this free service to the community,” said Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Gail Eastman. “It is truly a remarkable event and the dedication of all the volunteers shows their care and concern for all who live here. It is this type of event that makes me especially proud of our city.”
“Many men, women and children do not have health care, yet do not know where to turn,” said Council Member Jordan Brandman. “Please come to the 2013 Anaheim Health Care and Expo. Get the screenings and exams. Visit with the doctors and medical professionals. Your health is too important to ignore.”
Event co-organizer Dr. Nitin Shah added, “Why offer free health screenings? Because health is the best wealth one can ever have.”
