ANAHEIM PLANNING DEPT. SEEKS RESIDENT INPUT FOR HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE
ANAHEIM, Calif. (April 26, 2013) Anaheim residents are invited to attend upcoming meetings to learn about the City’s Housing Element Update and to offer input on what is important to both their specific neighborhoods and the City as a whole.
The need for all forms of housing in the City will be discussed, including single family homes, apartments and senior housing at both market rate and affordable levels. The Housing Element is one of seven State-mandated elements of the City’s General Plan. Under State law, the Housing Element helps ensure that cities adopt land use plans and regulations that encourage housing development that meets local needs, and provides the framework to address the existing and projected housing needs of the community.
The meeting dates and locations are as follows, with the same information to be presented at each workshop:

East Anaheim Community Center

The workshops are designed to support the 2014-21 Housing Element Update program by providing an opportunity to gather direct community input on the opportunities and challenges the City faces towards meeting the housing needs of current and future Anaheim residents. The City has also updated the its Housing Element webpage which provides additional information on the Housing Element update program, including the City Council-appointed Housing Element Ad Hoc Committee. The webpage also contains a link to a survey that allows residents and stakeholders to provide housing-related comments electronically.
