Anaheim civil rights activist Duane Roberts and OC Weekly investigative reporter Gabriel San Ramon drove around downtown Anaheim today to try to find out where all the locations the cops were hiding as they gathered their forces in response to protests.
According to Roberts, “Last year, in preparation for an anti-police demonstration that took place in front of the Anaheim Police Department, they deployed most of their “assets” in a public parking lot just North of Glover Stadium. But today, they weren’t there. So where were they? Gabriel and I discovered that there was a huge deployment at the Anaheim Parks and Recreation Central Yard at 900 E. South Street. Later, they moved an equestrian unit–which Anaheim Police jointly operate with three other law enforcement agencies–to a parking lot behind the Anaheim First Christian Church, located at 520 W South St.” Continue reading
