Couple Combines Business Backgrounds to Open 18|8 Fine Men’s Salon
When Luke Chang was laid off from his corporate job last year, it gave him the freedom to start exploring business ownership ideas with his wife, Kathy, a stay-at-home mom of 14 years.
“[Kathy] was already looking for something to do as the kids are getting older,” Chang said. “She always wanted to have her own business, and [franchising] was one of the options we considered, especially for a business [in which] we were not an expert.”
Working with a franchise consultant, the couple chose to open an 18|8 Fine Men’s Salon franchise. 18|8 provides high-end men’s salon services, including haircuts, styling, coloring, shaving, waxing, and scalp/face and hand treatments. “[We] provide a unique experience for men, who can take care of their grooming needs in a relaxing atmosphere,” Chang said. “The salon also carries high-quality grooming products.” Continue reading

Anaheim will celebrate California Rideshare Week, October 6-10, by hosting the City’s 23rd annual Transportation Fair, which includes a Chili Cook-Off and a Book Fair. Proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off and Book Fair will benefit local charities. This year’s Transportation Fair theme is Ridesharing Goes on Vacation.
The Chili Cook-Off will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at downtown Anaheim’s Center Street Promenade.
