Investigators Seeking Public’s Assistance Identifying Suspect in Fatality Hit & Run Traffic Collision
STANTON, Calif. – (November 6, 2015) – On Thursday, November 5, 2015 at approximately 10:45 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision in the northbound lanes of Beach Boulevard, south of Orangewood Avenue.
Deputies arrived and discovered the victim, William Soane Ye, 62, Anaheim, lying in the roadway suffering from significant traumatic injuries. Deputies immediately began lifesaving measures until Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears Ye was struck by a vehicle travelling in the northbound lanes of Beach Boulevard. Due to the lack of witnesses to the collision, investigators do not have additional details but signals and/or crosswalks do not appear to be factors as the collision occurred mid-block.
Numerous car parts from the suspect vehicle were located and collected from the scene; however, traffic investigators have yet to determine the vehicle make or model. Investigators believe the suspect vehicle has front end damage to include the headlamps.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Accident Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation.
Anyone with information regarding this vehicle and/or driver is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Traffic Bureau at (714) 647-7000 or (949) 425-1860. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227) or at occrimestoppers.org.
