A man thought to be in his 20s was found dead in the driver’s seat of a parked Lincoln Navigator, late on Tuesday night, at around 11:35 p.m., at East Topaz Avenue, east of South East Street, according to the O.C. Register.
Anaheim Fire & Rescue responded to the scene first after receiving a call for medical aid. The paramedics found that the man had been shot in the head and was already dead.
The police are not sure yet if the unidentified man was murdered or committed suicide. The matter remains under investigation.
The police were delayed as they had to wait for a search warrant prior to examining the SUV for evidence. No gun has been reported yet at the scene.
The shooting happened midway between two local schools – Thomas Jefferson Elementary on the West and Theodore Roosevelt Elementary on the East, just a few blocks north of the Anaheim City School District’s headquarters.
