ANAHEIM/OC JOB FAIR AND EXPO TO FEATURE MORE THAN 200 EMPLOYERS AND 3,500 JOBS
Free June 17 event will also offer workshops and one-on-one sessions to jumpstart your career, as well as special resources for veterans
ANAHEIM, CA – (June 12, 2015) – The economy is improving, and with that comes available jobs. The 2015 Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center will host its 7th annual event of not only connecting job seekers with potential employers, but also provide workshops and one-on-one sessions to jumpstart your career through real-world shared experiences, tips and ideas from some of today’s leading experts.
The Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo is FREE, which includes entrance, parking, workshops, resume reviews, Wi-Fi, and more. Highlights will include the opportunity to meet potential employers face-to-face, significant cost savings with the free resume reviews, a free QR code for the ease and convenience of getting through the Job Fair, and special resources for veterans.
A key advantage for job seekers attending this event is the opportunity to meet potential employers face-to-face. The 3,500 jobs represented at the Job Fair and Expo are primarily salaried jobs, not just commission-only jobs or staffing agencies. The jobs represent the fields of hospitality, food and beverage, government, healthcare, financial, non-profit, public safety, education, communications and more. Some of the companies represented will include CKE Restaurants, Inc. Disneyland Resort, Anaheim Ducks/Honda Center, Kaiser Permanente, L3 Communications, GBS Linens, Inc., Time Warner Cable, City of Anaheim, Northgate Gonzalez Market, and more
One of the most popular areas at the Job Fair and Expo is the free resume review, which can save you upwards of $200-$300 for a paid resume service. In addition, an online resume needs to look different than the standard, printed version. Did you know that bulletpoints, lines and graphics are not easily read electronically? Come learn the five key tips to develop the resume you need to stand out and be noticed.
Added this year for ease and convenience, the Anaheim/OC Job Fair is introducing a QR code for attendees with smart phones or tablet devices to facilitate job search efforts. The QR Code will enhance the job seeking experience with quick and easy access to sort employer information by salary, job-type, employer, table number and websites. The free Wi-Fi and Internet Café is available to access the information for those who do not have mobile access.
This year’s Job Fair and Expo will offer veterans several resource opportunities, including a veterans-specific workshop and a dedicated resume review station just for veterans. The veterans workshop will include not only career advice, but also recommendations for housing, education, legal assistance, disability and special assistance, and more.
The Job Fair and Expo is fully supported by the Anaheim Mayor and City Council, and is being led by Council Members Kris Murray and James Vanderbilt.
The Anaheim Convention Center is located at 800 W. Katella Ave. Free parking is available off West Street and Transit Way. The Job Fair and Expo will run from 10 a.m. –3 p.m., and take place in Hall E. The Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Program.
