Subject: Anaheim Police Seek Public’s Help with Locating and Identifying Suspect in Fatal Hit & Run Last night, at 9:10 P.M.
Anaheim Police and Anaheim Fire & Rescue were called to the area of N. Magnolia Ave. and W. La Palma Ave. in reference to a Hit & Run – Just Occurred. When Officers arrived, they found an adult female lying in the northbound lanes of Magnolia Ave. south of LaPalma Ave. She had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle and was transported to UCI Medical Center for treatment.
Shortly before 1:00 A.M. today, the Orange County Coroner notified us the female, Daniela Rafaela Palacios, 44, of Anaheim, had passed away at the hospital.
Anaheim Police Traffic Investigators located one witness at the scene. Through the witness statement and our preliminary investigation we believe Palacios was riding her bicycle westbound, across Magnolia Ave. south of La Palma Ave. A large white pickup truck, that was northbound in the #2lane of Magnolia Ave. south of La Palma Ave., struck Palacios. The collision caused her to fall from her bicycle and land in the roadway where she was found by first responders.
The white truck stopped, briefly, and then sped off northbound on Magnolia Ave.The investigation into this fatal hit & run collision continues.
