ANAHEIM LIBRARY INTRODUCES ADDITIONAL OPEN HOURS AT TWO LIBRARY BRANCHES
ANAHEIM, CA – (July 1, 2013) The Anaheim Library is pleased to announce additional open hours at two Anaheim branch libraries, which gives residents more access to print, audio, video and web-based materials, as well as this year’s Summer Reading Fun program. The additional hours result from the City Council’s approved and balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2013/14, which was passed with an emphasis on strengthening city services and public safety.Beginning today, the Central Branch Library (500 W. Broadway) will expand service hours from 53 hours per week to 58 hours per week, by opening one hour earlier during the regular work week. The Central Branch Library’s new hours will be: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
Beginning July 6, Saturday hours will be restored to the Canyon Hills Branch Library (400 Scout Trail, Anaheim, CA 92807). The Canyon Hills Branch Library’s new hours will be: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday; Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Stop by the branch this Saturday to enter for an opportunity drawing.
Then, be sure to return the following Saturday, July 13 at 11 a.m. for the 32nd annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic being held on the northeast lawn, with entertainment and refreshments provided by the Canyon Hills Women’s Club.
